Agentic Coding

ACI-021: The Batch-Creation Antipattern

Thesis

Creating many steel threads (or any work items) in a single planning session feels productive but usually produces zero working code. Speculative upfront architecture planning is seductive because it gives the illusion of progress, but most of the planned work becomes obsolete before it starts. In agentic development, this antipattern is amplified because the agent can generate design documents fast enough that planning never encounters the friction that would force you to prioritize.
