103: The Session

Overview

102 taught what the agent is given before it starts. This chapter is about the session itself: the stretch of work between opening a conversation with the agent and closing it. The session is where most practical work happens, and it is fragile in ways that are easy to miss. The context window fills, and the tool compacts the conversation into a summary. The terminal closes, and the next session knows only what was written down. And the agent's reports about its own progress, the times in them included, read exactly like facts whether or not anything checked them.
