303: Command, the Pen and the Human
Who decides in a fleet, and how does a ruling reach every node? Once a fleet is running, the nodes analyse the forks and recommend answers, and the human's work becomes ruling on them. This chapter follows a ruling from start to finish: the taste the human brings to the calls the nodes cannot make, the anchor that keeps the human's words intact through relays and compacts, the chain of command and the pen that carry a ruling to every node, and the hold, an order that stops work until its release condition is met.
The exercises run in trios on Intent's whiteboard, with the third person playing the hypervisor, as in 302's facilitation addendum. They put a fork to the human, record the selection with its anchor, hold and release a piece of work, and replace two crossed orders with one.
