304: Verification and Failure in the Fleet

Overview

303 followed a ruling from the human to the node that acts on it. This chapter follows the work back: how a fleet checks what its nodes say they have done, and how it notices when it is going wrong. A node's report that its work is done is where checking starts. In a fleet the check can come from a node that did not build the work, from a gate that computes whether its criteria are met, or from the human, and each of these catches things the builder's own tests passed.
