304 Exercises: Verification and Failure in the Fleet

Setup

  • Attendees work in pairs: one person plays the builder, b, and the other the verifier, v. The facilitator stages Exercise 3.
  • Intent 3.2.3 or later, git, jq, and a scratch directory you can delete afterwards. Every exercise runs in throwaway projects, never in a real one.
  • A shell. The examples use zsh, the shell the course's evidence comes from.
  • One scratch project for Exercises 1, 3 and 4, made once: mkdir fleet && cd fleet && git init -q && git commit -q --allow-empty -m init && intent init fleet, then intent wb register hv --name "Hypervisor" --role hypervisor, intent wb register b --name "Builder" --role control and intent wb register v --name "Verifier" --role validation.
