ACI-003: The Ten Percent Problem

Most developers use AI coding tools at the autocomplete level, which the April 2026 survey estimated at roughly a tenth of what the tools can do: they accept suggestions and ask the chat an occasional question, but never delegate a multi-step task, build context for the agent or set up a way to verify its work. The gap between what the tools can do and how practitioners use them is where most of the value is left on the table, and the tools do not teach anyone to cross it.
