302: The Whiteboard and the Shared Tree

Overview

301 composed a fleet out of lanes of the work and priced what it costs to run. This chapter is about the two things that fleet's nodes share. The first is the whiteboard, where each node keeps a board and sends the others messages. The second is the checkout, where every node's work meets one git index. Both take writes from several nodes at once, and neither can tell one session from another, so they stay sound only through the practices their nodes follow. This chapter teaches those practices.
