ACI-020: The Tool-Practice Gap

Anthropic tells you how to use CLAUDE.md. It does not tell you how to evolve CLAUDE.md through 28 edits over 10 months. Every AI coding tool vendor provides tool documentation and leaves the practice to the user. The distance between "here is how to configure the tool" and "here is how to build a development practice around the tool" is where all the value is.

Story

Anthropic's Claude Code Best Practices blog post is well-written. It tells you to use CLAUDE.md for project rules, to keep instructions concrete and imperative, to use sub-agents for bounded tasks, and to use hooks for guardrails. It is accurate and insufficient.
